Oda Nobunaga was a prominent and powerful daimyo (feudal lord) of Japan during the Sengoku period (Warring States period) in the late 16th century. He is considered one of the most significant figures in Japanese history for his efforts to unify the country under his control.

Nobunaga was born in 1534 and was the second son of Oda Nobuhide, a minor warlord in the Owari Province. After his father's death, Nobunaga managed to gain control of the Oda clan and began a series of military campaigns to expand his influence.

One of his most significant achievements was the unification of the central Honshu region, which he accomplished through strategic alliances, military prowess, and innovative tactics. He promoted the use of firearms and embraced new technologies, which helped him gain an advantage over more traditional samurai forces.

Despite his military successes, Oda Nobunaga faced internal and external opposition. In 1582, his trusted general, Akechi Mitsuhide, betrayed him, leading to the tragic incident known as the Honnō-ji Incident, where Nobunaga was forced to commit suicide.

Although Nobunaga's life ended abruptly, his legacy lived on through his loyal generals, most notably Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu, who furthered his dream of unifying Japan. Toyotomi Hideyoshi succeeded in accomplishing Nobunaga's goal of unification after defeating the last remaining rival factions. Finally, Tokugawa Ieyasu, a former ally of Nobunaga, established the Tokugawa shogunate, which ruled Japan for over 250 years until the Meiji Restoration in the late 19th century.

Oda Nobunaga is remembered as a ruthless yet innovative leader who played a pivotal role in shaping Japan's history and laying the foundation for the Tokugawa shogunate era. His life and actions continue to be a popular subject in Japanese literature, theater, and media to this day.

Arrived when expected and the item is beautiful. Looks quality and great detail. It is a gift for someone and I don't think they'll be disappointed with it. Also, I had some concerns about delivery time as I was on a tight schedule but had plenty of communication with the seller and it was delivered by Royal Mail which was reassuring.

This is a gift for my wife who loves owls. This piece of Steampunk art takes the wise bird whom Athena in Greek mythology favours to an entirely new level. I love steampunk art and my wife is quite impressed with this figurine which is well made and quite unique.
