Product Technique
Made of bronze (lost wax). "Lost Wax" bronze (or hot-cast bronze) is actually 100% pure bronze - essentially copper and tin. The most well-known and used process for making "lost wax" involves the pouring of molten bronze. This is the same method used by ancient civilizations to create bronze sculptures. The making of a "lost wax" bronze is a complex and time-consuming process, and specific technical expertise is needed to accomplish the task of making a bronze sculpture.

The standing figure of Vercingetorix is depicted wearing a winged helmet, with his arm raised and pointing into the distance. At his side stands a figure of his son, holding an axe in his right hand. The sculpture is raised on a rectangular base cast in a naturalistic style. Emile Laporte was a French sculptor (1858 Paris - 1907) who attended the Academy in Paris and studied under Gabriel-Jules Thomas, Augustin Dumont, Jean-Marie Bonnassieux, and Louis-Ernest Barrias. He exhibited his work at the Salon of French artists from 1881 onwards, with his last exhibited work dating back to 1905. The attention to detail is absolutely fantastic, and the sculpture is extremely life-like.

Arrived when expected and the item is beautiful. Looks quality and great detail. It is a gift for someone and I don't think they'll be disappointed with it. Also, I had some concerns about delivery time as I was on a tight schedule but had plenty of communication with the seller and it was delivered by Royal Mail which was reassuring.

This is a gift for my wife who loves owls. This piece of Steampunk art takes the wise bird whom Athena in Greek mythology favours to an entirely new level. I love steampunk art and my wife is quite impressed with this figurine which is well made and quite unique.
