Bastet is an ancient Egyptian goddess, originally depicted with the head of a lioness or desert sand cat. Over time, her image evolved to include a domestic cat, and she became associated with home, fertility, and protection. Bastet was revered as a benevolent deity, often portrayed as a nurturing and protective force.
She was particularly popular during the New Kingdom period of ancient Egypt (1550–1070 BCE) and was celebrated in various festivals. Bastet was considered a guardian of the home, and many Egyptian households kept small statues or amulets of her for good fortune and protection.
Bastet's image underwent a transformation, and she became associated with the domestic cat due to the animal's graceful and protective qualities. Cats were highly regarded in ancient Egyptian society, and harming one, even accidentally, was considered a serious crime.
Bastet's worship included elaborate temples, with the most significant one located in the city of Bubastis. The temple complex featured grand festivals, attracting pilgrims from various parts of Egypt.
In addition to her role as a protector of home and family, Bastet was also associated with music, dance, and joy. She played a multifaceted role in the Egyptian pantheon, embodying both maternal and playful characteristics.

Great item! Sales acted promptly when I asked about the whereabouts of my package.

Arrived when expected and the item is beautiful. Looks quality and great detail. It is a gift for someone and I don't think they'll be disappointed with it. Also, I had some concerns about delivery time as I was on a tight schedule but had plenty of communication with the seller and it was delivered by Royal Mail which was reassuring.

Made it all the way to USA in one piece. It’s fantastic. Better than expected and heavy. Little guys got some weight to him. Very happy with purchase.
