Ra, also spelled Re, is one of the most significant and powerful deities in ancient Egyptian mythology. He is primarily associated with the sun and is often depicted as a man with the head of a hawk or falcon, crowned with a solar disk or a sun-disk encircled by a serpent.
Here are some key aspects of Ra:

Sun God: Ra is the god of the sun and was considered the creator of the sun. In Egyptian mythology, the sun was seen as a symbol of life, warmth, and vitality, and Ra was the one who brought light to the world each day as the sun rose.
Supreme Deity: At various points in Egyptian history, Ra was considered the supreme deity, the ruler of all other gods and goddesses. His importance and prominence in Egyptian religion fluctuated over time.
Solar Barque: Ra was believed to travel across the sky during the day in a solar barque (a boat) and through the underworld at night. This journey symbolized the cycle of day and night.
Creator and Sun God: Ra was often associated with the act of creation and was believed to have created the world and all living beings. His tears were said to have created humans.
Diverse Roles: While Ra is primarily associated with the sun, he also had other roles, such as being a god of order, kingship, and cosmic harmony. He was sometimes depicted as an elderly man and associated with wisdom.
Relationships: Ra had various relationships with other Egyptian deities, and his identity sometimes merged with other gods, such as Atum and Amun. For example, he was sometimes referred to as Ra-Atum when associated with the setting sun.
Cult Centers: Different cult centers were dedicated to the worship of Ra in ancient Egypt, with Heliopolis (Iunu in Egyptian) being one of the most important centers.
Ra's worship played a central role in ancient Egyptian religion and cosmology, reflecting the importance of the sun in the lives of the Egyptians and their belief in the cyclical nature of existence. The mythology surrounding Ra is rich and complex, with various stories and aspects associated with this powerful deity.

Arrived when expected and the item is beautiful. Looks quality and great detail. It is a gift for someone and I don't think they'll be disappointed with it. Also, I had some concerns about delivery time as I was on a tight schedule but had plenty of communication with the seller and it was delivered by Royal Mail which was reassuring.

This is a gift for my wife who loves owls. This piece of Steampunk art takes the wise bird whom Athena in Greek mythology favours to an entirely new level. I love steampunk art and my wife is quite impressed with this figurine which is well made and quite unique.
