Description
Description
This bronze bulldog sits squarely on its haunches with a wide chest, wrinkled face and a studded collar, gazing out with typical bulldog determination. It is styled after the bonnet mascots that decorated motor cars in the 1920s and 1930s, and here it is mounted on a red and white veined block base for display. The figure stands 16.1 cm tall and weighs 1.38 kg.
Design & Artistic Details
Car mascots were small sculptures fixed to the radiator caps of early automobiles, and animals such as bulldogs were popular for their sense of loyalty and toughness. This piece keeps the compact, solid form of a mascot: a strong silhouette, simplified folds and a pose that reads well from a distance. The polished highlights on the head and chest contrast with the darker recesses of the wrinkles.

Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.

Solid bronze sculptures are cast entirely in metal, traditionally with the lost-wax method. They are heavy, durable and develop a rich patina — pieces to keep for generations.
Cold cast bronze is made from real bronze powder blended with resin and hand-finished, giving an authentic bronze look with finer detail, lighter weight and a more accessible price. The material of each piece is listed on its product page.
