Description
Description
In the lore of medieval and early modern bestiaries, the dragon has long been depicted as a creature of fire and primal chaos, often contrasted with the serene, ethereal figures of legends who possess the unique ability to tame these formidable beasts. This piece, envisioned by contemporary artist Anne Stokes, captures the enduring archetype of the dragon-mistress, a figure who transcends the traditional knightly narrative of conquest to embody a harmonious connection with the supernatural. By depicting a guardian figure cradling a hatchling while another rests near her feet, the composition evokes themes of ancient stewardship, the balance between elemental ferocity and feminine grace, and the mystical bond between humanity and the legendary guardians of the earth. This work invites observers to explore the folkloric traditions where dragons are not merely foes to be vanquished, but sacred, intelligent beings dwelling in the liminal spaces between the known world and the realm of myth.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
