Description
Description
In medieval European folklore and heraldry, the dragon emerged as the ultimate symbol of the primordial guardian, often depicted coiled around treasures or lurking within the dark, subterranean reaches of fortified castles to deter the unworthy. This representation captures the essence of that ancient sentinel, echoing a time when the mythic beast functioned as the primary protector of subterranean strongholds and forbidden knowledge. By anchoring the dragon within the confines of a formidable portcullis gate, the piece evokes the tension between the sanctuary of the inner keep and the encroaching dangers of the outside world. Belonging to the themes of high fantasy, medieval gothic, and legendary mythology, this figure serves as a dramatic homage to the storied beasts that have commanded human imagination from the pages of Arthurian legend to the annals of epic literature.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
