Description
Description
This evocative portrayal draws inspiration from the enduring legacy of the shield-maiden, a figure shrouded in the atmospheric intersection of Norse mythology and early medieval reality. While historical accounts from the Viking Age often blur the lines between shield-maidens and the Valkyries of Old Norse sagas—supernatural beings who chose the fallen in battle—archaeological discoveries, such as the prominent Birka warrior grave, have prompted modern scholars to re-examine the role of women in the martial traditions of Scandinavia. Adorned in protective armor and grounded by the traditional round shield, this figure embodies the archetypal spirit of Norse womanhood, reflecting a culture that valued strength, independence, and the fierce defense of honor. Belonging to the themes of Viking history, Norse mythology, and historical fantasy, this representation captures the stoic resolve of those legendary figures who stood at the vanguard of the Northern frontier.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
