Description
Description
The "Heart and Key" design by Vincent Hie evokes the profound symbolism of the romantic era, where the metaphor of the heart as a guarded sanctuary became a cornerstone of Victorian sentimentalism. Drawing upon the tradition of *memento mori* and the secretiveness of courtship tokens, the imagery of the lockable heart speaks to the historical value placed on intimacy and the exclusivity of devotion. During the 19th century, such motifs served as visual manifestations of emotional fidelity, capturing the tension between public display and private concealment. This piece elegantly embodies the themes of Gothic romance, Victorian mystery, and symbolic guardianship, inviting the observer to contemplate the sacred, hidden recesses of human affection that are traditionally kept under key.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
