Description
Description
The Iguanodon, an herbivorous marvel of the Early Cretaceous period, holds a distinguished place in the history of science as one of the very first dinosaurs ever identified and described. Initially discovered in England in the 1820s, this iconic creature was long misunderstood, with its signature conical thumb spike famously mistaken for a horn on its nose by early paleontologists. It was only later, through the discovery of complete skeletons in Belgium, that we gained a true understanding of its robust, bipedal form and its unique adaptation to a life spent roaming vast landscapes. This depiction captures the majesty of that scientific awakening, grounding the viewer in the fascination of prehistoric discovery. Belonging to the themes of paleontology, natural history, and scientific exploration, this piece invites admirers of the ancient world to contemplate the evolution of our knowledge regarding these terrestrial giants.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
