Description
Description
This evocative portrayal captures a poignant moment from the pastoral life of the Maasai people of East Africa, a semi-nomadic culture whose existence has long been defined by a deep and ancestral bond with their livestock. Central to the Maasai identity is the role of the shepherd, a responsibility often entrusted to children from a young age, signifying the transition of youth into the essential rhythms of community sustenance and stewardship of the land. The gentle interaction between the young Maasai boy and the lamb reflects the cultural values of protection, nurturing, and the profound interconnectedness between humanity and the animals that form the backbone of their traditional economy. Belonging to the themes of African heritage, pastoral tradition, and human-animal kinship, this piece serves as a timeless tribute to the enduring spirit and way of life of one of the world's most iconic pastoralist societies.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
