Description
Description
Inspired by the enduring maritime legends of the deep, this piece draws upon the folklore of sirens and tritons that have captivated sailors since the ancient Mesopotamian myths of the god Oannes and the goddess Atargatis. Throughout the Victorian era, the resurgence of romanticism and interest in natural history led to an artistic obsession with ocean dwellers, often manifesting in intricate decorative works that celebrate the duality of the human and aquatic forms. By capturing the intimate embrace of a merman and mermaid, this creation echoes the long-held fascination with sea-bound spirits who were believed to inhabit the mysterious, uncharted currents of our world's oceans. Belonging to themes of nautical lore, mythological fantasy, and Victorian-inspired oceanography, this evocative item brings the ethereal beauty of sea legends into the light, serving as a poetic tribute to the timeless mysteries of the deep.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
