Description
Description
Oya, a central and formidable figure within the Yoruba religion of West Africa and its diaspora traditions, is revered as the fierce Orisha of the winds, lightning, and violent storms. Often associated with the Niger River and the threshold between life and death, she is a powerful symbol of radical change, feminine strength, and the transformative power of chaos. Her presence is characterized by her command over the gale-force winds that clear away the old to make room for the new, reflecting her role as a guardian of the marketplace and a catalyst for profound personal evolution. This depiction captures her spirit as a masterful warrior and protector who navigates the boundary of the afterlife, embodying the essential themes of spiritual transition, environmental elemental forces, and the resilient endurance of ancestral heritage.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
