Description
Description
Oya is a powerful and dynamic Orisha within the Yoruba religion of West Africa and the traditions of the African Diaspora, revered as the fierce deity of winds, lightning, and violent storms. Often associated with the Niger River, she serves as a guardian of the cemetery gates, acting as a transformative force who ushers the spirits of the dead into the afterlife and governs the profound changes of life’s cycles. Her depiction captures her commanding presence, embodying the chaotic yet necessary energy required to clear away the old and make room for the new. This representation explores themes of spiritual evolution, divine feminine power, ancestral connection, and the untamable forces of the natural world.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
