Description
Description
“Réveil” – French for “awakening” – shows a standing young woman stretching as she wakes, both hands raised behind her head and her weight resting gently on one leg. The pose lengthens the whole figure and gives the sculpture a slender, upward line from the feet to the elbows. In a golden-brown bronze on a small stepped base and black square plinth, it stands 43 cm tall.
Design & Artistic Details
The theme of awakening, with arms raised and the body gently twisted, has a long history in European sculpture as an image of youth, morning and renewal. The sculptor concentrates on balance and proportion: the relaxed hip, the slightly turned head and the lifted elbows create a soft spiral through the figure. The smooth, polished modelling of the body contrasts with the angular steps of the base, giving the piece a clean, classical character.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.

Solid bronze sculptures are cast entirely in metal, traditionally with the lost-wax method. They are heavy, durable and develop a rich patina — pieces to keep for generations.
Cold cast bronze is made from real bronze powder blended with resin and hand-finished, giving an authentic bronze look with finer detail, lighter weight and a more accessible price. The material of each piece is listed on its product page.
