Description
Description
The Labrador Retriever, while named for the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador, finds its true ancestral roots in the working dogs of the 19th-century United Kingdom, where they were meticulously refined by the Earls of Malmesbury from the smaller St. John’s water dogs of Newfoundland. Originally favored by fishermen for their dexterity in retrieving stray lines and by sportsmen for their unparalleled prowess in the field, this breed eventually ascended to the pinnacle of human companionship due to their legendary temperament and unwavering devotion. This study of the breed captures the noble and contemplative demeanor that has made the Labrador a consistent symbol of loyalty throughout modern domestic history. Belonging to the themes of canine companionship, classic sporting heritage, and the enduring bond between humanity and the animal world, this representation honors the spirit of a breed that continues to define the ideal of the faithful friend.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
