Description
Description
The astrolabe, a marvel of Hellenistic science and medieval ingenuity, served as a sophisticated model of the universe, allowing astronomers and navigators to compute the positions of celestial bodies with unparalleled precision. This piece pays homage to the intellectual ambition of antiquity, evoking the intricate mechanical systems once utilized in the great observatories of the Islamic Golden Age and Renaissance Europe to track the ephemeral dance of the stars across the heavens. By blending the aesthetic of Victorian-era industrialism with the classical geometry of ancient navigational instruments, it embodies the spirit of steampunk and neo-Victorian design, celebrating an imagined past where steam-powered machinery and celestial mechanics converged to redefine the boundaries of human exploration and technological wonder.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
