Description
This tall bronze shows two dolphins leaping out of a curling wave, one rising high at the top and the other diving alongside it, their bodies linked by ribbons of spray. A blue-green patina gives the piece the colour of the sea, with lighter highlights on the dolphins’ backs and the crests of the water. Standing 85 cm tall on a round dark base and weighing 14.6 kg, it is a commanding sculpture for a large room.

Dolphins have symbolised friendship, joy and safe passage at sea since antiquity, and pairs of dolphins often stand for companionship. The composition is built as a rising spiral: the wave curls from the base, carries the first dolphin, then lifts the second into the air, so the eye travels upwards along the whole height of the piece.
