Description
Description
"Apollo and Daphne" is a seminal representation of the dramatic myth from Ovid's "Metamorphoses," recounting the tale of unrequited love and transformation. The narrative unfolds as Apollo, god of the sun, becomes infatuated with the beautiful nymph Daphne. In a desperate bid to escape his relentless pursuit, Daphne calls upon her father, the river god Peneus, to save her, resulting in her transformation into a laurel tree at the very moment Apollo reaches her. This artwork captures the poignant moment of metamorphosis, echoing themes of desire, loss, and the intersection of divine intervention and human agency. The dynamic motion and emotional intensity are palpable, making this piece a timeless exploration of the complexities of love and the inevitable intertwining of fate and free will.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
