Description
Description
The depiction of Balthazar, the King of Ethiopia, offering myrrh presents a vivid narrative from Christian tradition. Representing one of the Magi, or Wise Men, Balthazar is often celebrated for his significant role in the Nativity story. As described in the Gospel of Matthew, the Magi journeyed from the East to honor the birth of Jesus, bearing gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Balthazar's gift of myrrh, a precious resin used in anointing and embalming, symbolically foreshadowed the anointing of Jesus' body after His crucifixion, signifying both divinity and mortality. This portrayal aligns with themes of Biblical history, faith, and prophetic symbolism, capturing a moment of reverence and offering that resonates deeply within Christian heritage.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
