Description
Description
This representation draws upon the rich iconography of the Mexican *Día de los Muertos*, or Day of the Dead, a holiday deeply rooted in pre-Columbian traditions where the boundary between the living and the spirit realm is momentarily bridged to honor ancestors. The figure’s face, adorned with *calavera* makeup, echoes the whimsical yet profound personification of death known as *La Calavera Catrina*, originally popularized by José Guadalupe Posada to emphasize the equality of all individuals in the face of mortality. By blending these ancient, reflective motifs with the contemporary aesthetic of urban subcultures, this piece serves as a modern bridge between traditional veneration of the departed and the playful, rebellious spirit of current youthful expression. Its thematic elements center on the intersection of Gothic aesthetics, festive folk art, and the universal, lighthearted confrontation with the macabre.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
