Description
Description
The Crouching Gargoyle evokes the rich historical tradition of Gothic architecture, where such imposing figures were commonly employed as both decorative and functional elements atop cathedrals and other significant structures. Originating in medieval Europe, gargoyles served a dual purpose: they were designed to ward off evil spirits and act as water spouts to direct rain away from the building's masonry. The grotesque yet fascinating forms represent a blend of mythological imagery and practical architecture, embodying the mystical and protective themes prevalent during their time. This piece invites an exploration of the medieval fascination with the supernatural and the creative ways in which artisans sought to blend form with function.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
