Description
Description
This representation of the Passion captures the profound theological intersection of suffering and salvation that has anchored Christian devotion for centuries. At the center is the figure of Christ, crowned with thorns and depicted with the anatomical realism that became a hallmark of Western religious art during the Renaissance and Baroque periods, intended to evoke deep contemplation in the viewer. The inclusion of the titulus crucis, inscribed with the letters INRI—an abbreviation of the Latin phrase for "Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews"—references the historical account of the Roman sentencing of the crucifixion, serving as a solemn reminder of the scriptural narrative. Rooted in themes of sacrifice, spiritual redemption, and the solemnity of the liturgical tradition, this piece invites a moment of introspection, standing as a testament to the enduring influence of iconography on the private devotional practices of the faithful.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
