Description
Description
This evocative composition captures the profound theological and emotional depth of the Crucifixion, the pivotal moment of the Passion of Christ as described in the New Testament. At the summit stands the figure of Christ upon the cross, distinguished by the Latin inscription "INRI"—Iesus Nazarenus, Rex Iudaeorum—the title ordered by Pontius Pilate. Below, the scene is grounded in the tradition of the Stabat Mater, depicting the Virgin Mary and the beloved disciple, John, amidst a atmosphere of immense sorrow and sacred grief. This representation falls within the rich tradition of Western Christian iconography, specifically focusing on themes of sacrifice, ultimate devotion, and the redemptive suffering central to religious art history. The work invites contemplation of the human experience through the lens of divine tragedy, emphasizing the shared empathy of those who stood vigil at Calvary.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
