Description
Description
"Fishing For Riddles" by Selina Fenech invites the observer into the ethereal realm of folklore, where the boundary between the natural world and the supernatural dissolves. Drawing inspiration from classical European mythology, where spirits of the water—often referred to as nymphs or naiads—act as guardians of hidden wisdom, this piece captures a contemplative moment of discovery. The figure, poised with a golden key, echoes the age-old archetype of the trickster or oracle who tests the seeker with enigmatic puzzles, a common motif in fairy tales spanning from Celtic lore to the Brothers Grimm. Through the themes of enchantment, mystery, and the secret knowledge of the unseen world, the work reflects the enduring human fascination with the magical forces that occupy our rivers, lakes, and the deep, silent spaces of the imagination.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
