Description
Description
In the realm of contemporary fantasy art, Selina Fenech’s "Foster Family" reimagines the mythological dragon not as a creature of fire and devastation, but as a tender, maternal guardian of the small and vulnerable. This piece draws upon a long-standing folklore tradition of the "beast as protector," reflecting a modern cultural shift where dragons are frequently depicted as sentient, empathetic beings capable of cross-species nurturing. By positioning the formidable reptilian figure in a stance of watchful serenity over a litter of domestic kittens, the composition challenges the classical dichotomy between the wild, fearsome predator and the domesticated companion. The work resides within the themes of mythical creatures, maternal instinct, and the whimsical intersection of the supernatural with the mundane, celebrating the universality of care that transcends the boundaries of species and myth.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
