Description
Description
Jason with the Golden Fleece is a sculpture by Bertel Thorvaldsen. A lifesize clay version created in 1803 is considered to be the artist's first great work. The larger marble statue, reaching a height of 242 cm (95 in), was however not completed until 1828.
Jason With The Golden Fleece captures the essence of a legendary quest deeply rooted in Greek mythology, where Jason, the leader of the Argonauts, embarks on a perilous journey to claim the prized Golden Fleece. Symbolizing a heroic pursuit and triumph over adversity, the narrative underscores themes of bravery, leadership, and the relentless pursuit of destiny. The fleece itself, representing ultimate authority and kingship, is shrouded in enchantment and coveted by many. This tale celebrates adventure and the formation of bonds among heroes, their determination, and the trials faced in pursuit of legendary goals. Drawing from a rich tapestry of myth, it invites observers to reflect upon their own quests and the timeless allure of seeking greatness against all odds. This representation springs forth from an eternal story that binds human ambition and mythic glory within the folds of history.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
