Description
Description
Joan of Arc, or “The Maid of Orleans”, is a heroine of France during the Hundred Years’ War, and she was canonized as a Roman Catholic saint.
Born into a peasant family living in northeastern France, she saw visions at a young age that God had chosen her to lead France to victory against England. At age 19, after successfully convincing the future King Charles VII to let her lead the French army to the city of Orleans, Joan led several assaults against the Anglo-Burgundian forces, and drove them from their bastion and force their retreat. Joan was defeated when she and her followers confronted the Burgundian assault on Compiegne, she was thrown from her horse in her effort to defend the town and its inhabitants, she was captured by her enemy and later burned at the stake for witchcraft and heresy.
The story of Joan of Arc had attained a mythic stature in history, it inspired numerous works of art and literatures over the centuries.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
