Description
Description
The Koi Coupe evokes the sophisticated aesthetic of the Art Nouveau movement, a period at the turn of the 20th century characterized by an obsession with organic fluidity and the stylized beauty of the natural world. Drawing deep inspiration from the Japonisme fascination that swept through Western ateliers, this piece captures the serene movement of koi navigating through tranquil waters, a motif frequently utilized in East Asian art to symbolize perseverance, fortune, and prosperity. The inclusion of the lotus, emerging from the base, reinforces these themes of enlightenment and purity, grounding the work in a rich tradition of biological symbolism. By harmonizing the graceful lines of aquatic life with the rhythmic elegance of botanical elements, the design embodies the era’s desire to bridge the divide between fine art and the natural environment, offering a contemplative window into a garden of perennial grace.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
