Description
Description
This whimsical creation by Lisa Parker draws inspiration from the long-standing Victorian and Edwardian fascination with anthropomorphism and the glorification of domestic companions. Much like the nineteenth-century portraiture that sought to elevate household pets to the status of revered family members, this piece captures the regal poise of the feline form, reminiscent of the traditional "cat on a cushion" motif frequently depicted in antique oil paintings and ornate collectibles. The integration of a library setting suggests a nod to the scholarly and often mystical portrayals of cats in literature, reflecting an enduring cultural narrative that positions the cat as a silent, enigmatic guardian of knowledge and the hearth. Within the themes of fantasy, animal companionship, and magical realism, this item serves as a charming homage to the role of the feline as a muse for artists and a beloved occupant of the imaginative home.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
