Description
Description
This depiction of the Maria Immaculata draws upon the rich iconography of the Immaculate Conception, a central theme in Counter-Reformation art that gained profound theological significance in the 17th and 18th centuries. The Virgin Mary is presented in a posture of contemplative prayer, standing atop the crescent moon—an allusion to the Woman of the Apocalypse from the Book of Revelation—while her foot crushes the serpent, symbolizing her role in the triumph over original sin. The surrounding cherubs and the swirling drapery evoke the celestial atmosphere typical of Baroque devotional works, designed to inspire reverence and emphasize her state of divine purity. This piece belongs to the themes of classical religious iconography, Christian devotional art, and the historical legacy of Marian veneration, serving as a contemplative meditation on grace and spiritual protection.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
