Description
Description
Rooted in the ancient maritime traditions of the Mediterranean and beyond, this piece captures the enduring allure of the mermaid, a figure central to sailors' lore and mythological accounts dating back to the Assyrian goddess Atargatis. Throughout history, the image of the maiden of the sea, often depicted resting alongside the spiraling conch—a symbol of the deep and the auditory resonance of the ocean—has served as a testament to humanity's profound fascination with the mysteries of the submerged world. This evocative representation draws upon the romanticized aesthetic of nineteenth-century Neoclassicism, where nautical folklore and the elegance of marine life were frequently synthesized in ornamental artistry to celebrate the majesty of the sea. Embracing themes of nautical folklore, oceanic mythology, and Victorian-inspired fantasy, this creation serves as a tribute to the timeless connection between civilization and the boundless expanse of the tides.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
