Description
Description
Captured in a moment of tranquil contemplation, this figure evokes the ancient maritime lore of the mermaid, a siren of the deep whose origins trace back to the Syrian goddess Atargatis, who transformed herself into a fish-hybrid to hide from mortal shame. Throughout the ages, such figures have populated the mythologies of cultures worldwide, from the Greek sirens who bewitched sailors with their songs to the folkloric undines and selkies that embody the dual nature of the ocean—at once nurturing and perilous. This portrayal captures the eternal mystery of these aquatic beings, reflecting the human fascination with the boundary between land and sea, and the untamable allure of the vast, uncharted waters. This piece belongs to the themes of coastal enchantment, classical mythology, and the romanticized aesthetic of maritime wonder.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
