Description
Description
The Necrophone by Myles Pinkney evokes the Victorian-era obsession with spiritualism and the earnest attempt to bridge the veil between the living and the departed through the burgeoning technology of the late 19th century. During a time when figures like Sir Arthur Conan Doyle championed the scientific validity of mediums and spirit photography, inventors often conceptualized devices that applied telephony to the ethereal realm, transforming communication into a macabre pursuit of post-mortem dialogue. This piece embodies the convergence of curiosity and the gothic aesthetic, standing as a testament to humanity’s enduring desire to master the silence beyond death. It belongs firmly within the themes of steampunk, dark academia, and occult curiosity, capturing the eerie intersection of early mechanical ingenuity and the haunting mysteries of the spirit world.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
