Description
Description
Inspired by the rich maritime legacy of the Aegean civilization, this piece evokes the ancient Minoan fascination with the mysteries of the deep. Historically, the octopus was a recurring motif in Thalassocracy—the culture of the sea—where it represented the fluidity and hidden intellect of the oceanic world, frequently adorning vessels recovered from the palace at Knossos. The swirling form, reminiscent of a nautilus or the vortex of the tides, serves as a grounded harbor for this intelligent cephalopod as it appears to emerge from the surf. This piece celebrates the intersection of natural history and artistic expression, drawing upon themes of nautical exploration, cabinet of curiosities, and the enduring allure of marine life that has captivated artisans and scholars for millennia.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
