Description
Description
Originating from the Guangdong province of China, the Shar Pei is an ancient breed with a history tracing back to the Han Dynasty, where they were highly regarded as versatile farm dogs, guardians, and protectors of property. Historically depicted in pottery and artwork from these early eras, the breed is instantly recognizable by its loose, wrinkled skin, which was selectively bred to provide protection during scuffles and a unique appearance that has captivated admirers for centuries. This portrayal of a Shar Pei Puppy Sitting pays homage to that storied lineage, capturing the gentle, soulful expression and quintessential folds that define this cherished companion. Belonging to themes of animal portraiture, traditional pastoral life, and classic pet portraiture, this piece serves as a timeless tribute to the enduring legacy of one of the world's most distinctive canine companions.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
