Description
Description
This exquisite piece by Brigid Ashwood captures the essence of the Steampunk aesthetic, an imaginative subgenre of science fiction that envisions an alternate history where Victorian-era industrialization was powered by steam rather than electricity. Drawing inspiration from the mechanical fascinations of the 19th-century Industrial Revolution and the intricate biological studies of the Naturalist era, this work reimagines nature through a lens of clockwork ingenuity. The ornate, flowing filigree framing the centerpiece serves as a nod to Art Nouveau, a design movement that sought to harmonize the organic curves of the natural world with the structure of modern life. By merging the delicate anatomy of the bee with a complex array of interlocking gears and cogs, the design invites the viewer to reflect upon a bygone dream of a future driven by brass, ingenuity, and the relentless ticking of progress, perfectly embodying the themes of retro-futurism and biological mechanics.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
