Description
Description
Inspired by the speculative Victorian fascination with deep-sea exploration and the imaginative engineering of Jules Verne’s *Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea*, this piece captures the spirit of an era captivated by both the natural mysteries of the abyss and the mechanical potential of the Industrial Revolution. During the late 19th century, marine biology and sub-aquatic technology emerged as prominent frontiers of scientific inquiry, often depicted in literature and art through a lens of wonder and complex machinery. This depiction of a cephalopod navigator—complete with specialized optical instrumentation and a surveyor’s staff—evokes the pioneering curiosity of bathysphere explorers and the romanticized aesthetic of retro-futurism. Firmly rooted in the themes of steampunk, nautical adventure, and neo-Victorian scientific fantasy, it serves as a testament to an idealized historical period where steam power and biological marvels converged in the unexplored reaches of the world's oceans.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
