Description
Description
This dramatic composition evokes the enduring legend of Saint George and the Dragon, a cornerstone of Christian hagiography and medieval folklore that symbolized the triumph of faith and order over the chaotic forces of evil. Popularized throughout Europe during the Middle Ages, particularly following the Crusades, the iconography of the mounted knight piercing a serpent became a pervasive motif in European art, representing chivalric virtue, divine protection, and the archetype of the heroic protector. By capturing the pivotal moment of victory, the piece draws upon a rich historical tradition of mythological storytelling that has inspired artisans and scholars for centuries. The work belongs to the themes of classical mythology, medieval chivalry, and the eternal struggle between good and evil, offering a sophisticated homage to the heroic legends that have shaped cultural perceptions of courage and triumph.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
