Description
Description
This evocative depiction of a Druid by artist Ruth Thompson draws upon the ancient, mystical traditions of Celtic and pre-Christian European cultures, where spiritual leaders served as intermediaries between the natural world and the divine. The figure is framed by an architectural archway inscribed with Ogham-inspired runes, symbolizing the sacred intersection of human wisdom and the untamed wilderness. By adorning himself with a crown of antlers and flanked by a sentinel wolf and a watchful raven, the druid embodies the shamanistic role of the shapeshifter and guardian of the forest, themes deeply rooted in the folklore of Iron Age societies. This piece resonates with the aesthetics of pagan mythology, nature-based spirituality, and fantasy art, inviting a contemplation of a time when the boundaries between humanity and the animal kingdom were bridged by those who held the secrets of the sacred groves.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
