Description
Description
The Moral High Ground serves as a whimsical yet profound meditation on the Renaissance concept of the vanitas, a genre of symbolic art intended to remind viewers of the transience of life and the futility of worldly pursuits. By juxtaposing the curious feline figures—traditional sentinels of the esoteric—against a tower of weathered tomes, the piece invokes the image of the scholar’s study, where knowledge and death are perpetually intertwined. The inclusion of the memento mori skull, etched with the cartography of the known world, suggests that the pursuit of intellectual enlightenment is a journey toward an inevitable conclusion, balancing the weight of historical legacy with the sharp, watchful gaze of those who occupy the metaphorical heights of wisdom. This piece draws deep inspiration from themes of occult mystery, gothic academia, and the contemplative nature of the supernatural, inviting a quiet reflection on the mysteries that remain hidden beneath the surface of human discovery.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
