Description
Description
The "Three Not So Wise Monkeys" offers a subversive, modern reinterpretation of the centuries-old Japanese proverb and sculptural motif known as *sanzaru*, which famously depicts the trio of monkeys covering their eyes, ears, and mouth to represent the principle of "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil." While the classical tradition advocates for avoiding malevolent influences to maintain purity, this contemporary variation challenges that philosophy by integrating industrial, mechanical, and cyberpunk aesthetics to critique our hyper-connected, technologically inundated era. By replacing simple gestures of restraint with sensory-altering gear—headsets, protective goggles, and respirators—the piece suggests that in a dystopian future, these figures are not choosing to ignore the world, but are instead attempting to survive or filter the overwhelming barrage of information and environmental hazards. Belonging to the themes of Steampunk, modern satire, and cyberpunk art, this work invites viewers to consider whether true wisdom in the digital age requires closing oneself off or engaging more critically with the surrounding chaos.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
