Description
Description
This piece draws inspiration from the illustrious Vendel period of Sweden, a golden age of craftsmanship that preceded the Viking Age and left behind a legacy of intricate artistry. The panels are adorned with motifs reminiscent of the famous Torslunda helmet plates, capturing the mounted warriors and mythic imagery that defined the martial aristocracy of the time. Intricate interlace patterns, reflecting the complex knotwork common in Germanic migration art, wrap around the exterior, symbolizing the fluidity and intertwining of fate and life force held in such high regard by the pre-Viking Northern cultures. Belonging to the historical themes of Norse mythology, Germanic antiquity, and Early Medieval warrior culture, this object serves as a window into the enigmatic world of northern raiding chieftains and the legendary saga-figures who paved the way for the Viking expansion.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
