Description
Description
Widely considered to be one of the most significant figure of the 20th century’s, Sir Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill was a British politician, military officer, writer and served as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (1940 to 1945 & 1951 to 1955) and led Britain to a combined Allied victory in the Second World War.
During his second election as the British Prime Minister, Churchill introduced many reforms to solve the issues in the British housing, healthcare and welfare policies, however his efforts are overshadowed by a series of foreign crises and rebellions from the British colonies,
trying to retain what was the the British Empire, Churchill would often choose direct military solution against these problems.
As with other influential world leaders, Churchill left behind a complicated legacy. Remembered by the world as the man that stood his ground against the 3rd reich, his commitment to his countrymen is still highly praised today.
“We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.” (Winston Churchill - June 4th 1940)
This statue is inspired by the famous portrait of Winston Churchill, the photo was captured when the photographer took the cigar off Churchill’s mouth without permission, the facial expression and posture truly shows the personality of this legendary man.
