Description
Description
The image of the Divine Infant Jesus, or El Divino Niño, traces its modern origins to the early 20th century in Bogotá, Colombia, where the Salesian missionary Father Juan del Rizzo popularized this specific devotion. Drawing inspiration from 17th-century Italian depictions of the Christ Child, the iconography emphasizes a youthful, welcoming figure with outstretched arms, inviting the faithful to seek his guidance and intercession. This representation embodies themes of divine innocence, spiritual protection, and childhood grace, serving as a poignant focal point for prayer within the Catholic tradition. It is deeply associated with concepts of hope, miraculous intervention, and the sanctity of the family, resonating with devotees who turn to the image to find comfort, humility, and a sense of childlike trust in their daily lives.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
