Description
Description
Lost Books by Tiffany Toland Scott invokes the long-standing maritime tradition of the mermaid as a keeper of arcane knowledge and hidden histories. Throughout folklore, from the siren songs of ancient Greece to the literary musings of the Romantic era, these aquatic beings have been envisioned as mediators between the terrestrial world of man and the vast, unwritten mysteries of the deep sea. By depicting this figure amidst submerged codices and drifting fragments of parchment, the artist taps into the historical trope of the "lost library," representing the accumulation of human thought reclaimed by the ocean’s depths. This piece belongs to the themes of fantasy, mythology, and the intersection of nature and literature, serving as a lyrical meditation on the preservation of wisdom beyond the reach of time and tide.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
