Description
Description
This poignant composition captures the deep-rooted cultural bond between the Maasai people of East Africa and their livestock, which serves as the cornerstone of their nomadic pastoralist lifestyle. In Maasai society, cattle and goats are not merely economic assets but integral members of the community, often cared for with a level of intimacy and protection that mirrors familial relationships. By depicting a young child tenderly embracing a goat, the piece illustrates the early socialization of Maasai youth, who are raised to respect and nurture the animals that ensure the survival and prosperity of their clan. This scene resonates with the themes of human-animal connection, cultural heritage, and the innocence of childhood, offering a glimpse into the harmonious existence between humanity and nature in the savannah landscape.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
