Description
Description
This representation depicts Our Lady of Lourdes, commemorating the series of eighteen Marian apparitions witnessed by Bernadette Soubirous in 1858 near the Grotto of Massabielle in southwestern France. Captured in a posture of profound contemplation, the figure reflects the iconic visual tradition that emerged following the young visionary’s descriptions, featuring the signature sash and rosary that have since become synonymous with the site’s enduring legacy as a place of healing, pilgrimage, and devotion. By emphasizing themes of faith, spiritual tranquility, and the sacred history of Christian tradition, this portrayal invites reflection on the transformative power of divine encounter and the quiet solace found in prayer.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
