Description
Description
Aeolus, in Greek mythology, is a figure known for his mastery over the winds. According to myth, Aeolus was the son of Hippotes, making him a mortal, but due to his extraordinary ability to command the winds, he was appointed by the gods as the ruler of the island Aeolia. His domain was not just any place but a floating island where he kept the wind confined in a cavern, releasing or restraining it at the gods' command or at the request of mortal supplicants. Homeric legend tells of Odysseus visiting Aeolus during his voyage back to Ithaca; Aeolus gave him a leather bag containing all the adverse winds to ensure a safe journey. However, Odysseus' crew, suspecting treasure, opened the bag, which led to disastrous storms throwing them off course. Aeolus, embodying the capricious nature of wind and fate, refused further assistance, demonstrating the ancients' perception of the unpredictability and power of natural forces personified in their gods and heroes.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
