Description
Description
Shango, a central figure within the Yoruba religion of West Africa and its diaspora, is revered as a powerful orisha representing lightning, thunder, fire, and virile energy. Historically believed to have been a king of the Oyo Empire, he is celebrated for his command over the elements and his association with justice and warfare. This depiction captures his commanding presence, often characterized by his signature double-headed axe, or oshe, symbolizing the rapid and decisive power of the thunderbolt. Representing themes of divine authority, elemental force, and spiritual protection, this figure embodies the intensity and complexity of a deity whose influence bridges the ancient traditions of the African continent with the living practices of Santería and Candomblé.

Care
Care
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. For bronze and metal pieces, an occasional light coat of wax or polish helps preserve the finish. Porcelain and glass items should be hand-cleaned gently to protect painted or gilded details.
